Pond Filters

Pond filters are something every pond absolutely must have. They keep the water in the pond clean, which keeps an overabundance of algae from growing. Clean water also makes your pond much less interesting to bugs and other organisms that you don’t want taking up residence.

While you should skim the top of your pond if there is a lot of debris in it, a pond filter will generally keep things from building up in your pond. But since a pond filter will be doing a lot of work, you need to make sure you get the right one. The wrong filter will be nothing but trouble.

The main thing about a filter is that it needs to be the proper size for your pond. If it is too small, it won’t clean the water properly, and it won’t be able to handle the amount of stuff it is pulling out of the water. This will leave the water dirty and clog the filter to boot.
